Stop Child Labour

                                                           Stop Child Labour

INTRODUCTION - Child labour refers to the employment of children in any work that deprives them of their ability to attend regular school , and that is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful.

Child labour is indeed a curse to our society and a crime against humanity . Although more prevalent in developing countries , it is definitely a universal phenomenon. Thousands of children all over the western world work in fast food centers ,gas stations, newspaper selling , cleaning of cars ,in garment and leather factories. They have to grind bricks and stones .They works as street hawkers. Sometimes i had seen that they become a pickpockets as well .They also work as labour in small factories and polish boots. They also work as male/female servants.

According to me ,child labour is considered as ‘FORCE LABOUR’ because children are rarely in a position to give free consent to any activities performed by them as most aspect of their lives are determined by adults.

HOW TO OVERCOME FROM THIS PROBLEM

As my thoughts the government should rehabilitate the floating people by creating work opportunities for them to develop their living standard. Many people are rich in the society and they can help those poor people in various ways .The government should sanction more money for ‘ FOOD FOR EDUCATION PROGRAM’. More child homes should be established for deserted children. After doing all these , we can expect children enjoying their fundamental rights and a child labour free India . Main points to overcome this problem :-

1. Spread Awareness

2. More stringent laws and effective implementation

3. Sending more children to school

4. Discouraging people to employ children in homes, shops, factories, etc.

5. Supporting NGOs like Save the Children

THE REAL ACCIDENT WITH ME-

One day i am going to market ,suddenly a kid comes after us saying ‘Do you want cinnamon rolls? I have for sale!’ I immediately turned around and was outraged by the image that was in front of me. I stood looking at it trying to process it . I told someone who was with us “What is a kid doing working at these late hours here? He should be at home sleeping!”.

From my understanding many of the children who work and are exploited have no family, which pushes them to go to work in the streets ,mines etc. and to accept hard jobs for them. This should motivate us to try to help by either directly or indirectly reducing this.

CAMPAIGNS

Different countries have different campaign just like UNICEF has launched the campaign “The Un escape Room” in order to support the eradication of child labour. The ILO uses the symbol of the Red Card to raise awareness about child labour and rallying support for action to combat it, reaching out to new audiences through the powerful means of football. Football is not only the world’s most popular sport which mobilises entire countries and continents, but also favours principles which the ILO seeks to promote, such as inclusivity and non-discrimination, and reaches out to all regardless of race, gender, religion and level of ability.

The pinwheel featured on the Red Card has become the symbol of the fight against child labour. The five blades of the pinwheel represent the different continents of the world and the wind that makes the pinwheel spin is the will to act and to pass on the message until all countries take adequate measures to end child labour.

The Red Card is widely used around the world, in particular in raising awareness around the World Day Against Child Labour on 12 June. High-profile personalities and artists have shown their support by holding up the “Red Card to Child Labour.”

USE WHAT YOU HAVE IN YOUR HANDS FOR HELP POORS,AND CHANGED THE WORLD

SOME LINES FROM MY SIDE-

 *Child labour is child abuse.

*Children are our future , let them grow.

*Child labour is a social crime.

*Give the child a pencil ,but not a plate to wash.

*Child’s hands are too small to work.
